Fantastic facilities offered by us for your child's development

Pathways Day Nursery is a small private setting catering for children aged two to five years. We are situated on the ground floor of a corner house opposite central park. We cater for eighteen children per session. Our ethos is to provide a clean and fresh setting in a happy homely environment which is inspiring and stimulating for children to learn. Children are encouraged to choose for themselves, show respect and most of all have fun. At Pathways Day Nursery we highly value the importance of natural and holistic play, which empowers young children as they learn about the world in which they live.

All staff are qualified and checked for suitability to work with children. We are committed to ongoing professional development. We work together with Sure Start and the Early Year’s Team ensuring we can embrace changes in legislation and keep up to date with current issues. Children look upon the staff as positive role models. You will notice during your time at the nursery that the staff are down at the child's level interacting with them and generally having fun. Nursery life is all about being able to learn whilst having fun, so during our sessions children are encouraged to make their own choices and to carry out activities independently.

The policies of our setting are available by request at any given time. All procedures in place are to guarantee the safety and care of all children and staff in our team. This may result in information being shared about children prior to your consent to ensure their safety. We are regulated and inspected by OFSTED and apply with the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Pathways Day Nursery is open 8.00 am - 5.00 pm from Monday to Friday throughout the year except bank holidays and one week at Christmas. We are able to offer full day care or a session group. We aim to be flexible to you and your child's needs and are able to offer term time only contracts. We have fun and stimulating room layouts with two interactive playrooms, a cosy room, conservatory, kitchen, bathroom and garden. The routine allows time for the children to be involved in free play, adult directed learning, outdoor play and group mealtimes. Children are encouraged to be independent and explore the setting through their own unique way.

We promote children's development by planning and assessing activities through the Early Years Foundation Stage. Children work in small groups during which their stage of development is taken into consideration. We use initiatives such as RTIME (using teamwork) BLAST (encouraging language). We pride ourselves in helping children to boost self esteem, confidence and independence and have helped children to overcome shyness and anxiety.

We follow the children's interests by exploring themes which are introduced through purposeful well-planned activities. This forms part of the child's learning journey, a document filled with observation and assessments of a child at play. The curriculum has seven areas of learning. Children begin to develop the prime areas of learning which are fundamental to develop relationships and experiences, then when ready they move on to the specific areas of learning essential for skills and knowledge.

Pathways Day Nursery is committed to raising standards and providing a high quality service for parents and children alike, working in an atmosphere of mutual respect and partnership. If you have any comments or complaints you wish to make, we would welcome the opportunity to read, and act upon them.
